This week's thing is all about "wiki's".

Although I've only ever really used wikipedia before, and that's because when I've normally done a google search that seems to pop up in the first lot of retrieved records. I do find it fairly reliable for those trivial questions.

I took a look at some of the linked wiki's in this weeks exercise, the "Library Success" wiki does have a lot of information. It resembles wikipedia to me though. It's something I might go back to in the near future and have a better look at the content.

When I search for personal interest wiki's I didn't have much luck at first, but after a couple of attempts I found a lot of perhaps useful wikis to browse through during my spare time.

23 Things - Thing 4

It's been quite interesting setting up a blog, I never in million years thought I'd be doing one.

It was really easy to set up and found the instructions clear.

I actually never thought I've ever read a blog before, but realise just as I was setting up mine that I do.

Being a mum to 2 young preschool boys I subscribe to a weekly newsletter "Essential Baby" some of the articles I read are actually blogs, they just have a layout like a regular online news article.

Sarah.

Thing 2 of 23 things

How will I make time?
As I’m a part timer, I want to tick my 23 things off at the beginning of the week. I’m pencilling in every Monday after lunch to spend an hour focussing on my things for the week.
Strategies?
Food? I won’t do it on an empty stomach, definitely after lunch! I’m lucky to have Vicki here in the Library for a mentor. She is friendly and approachable.
Goals?
I hope to learn a bit more about web tools. There is so much out there, I only seem to use the common ones. I’d like to see what all the others are about.
